Rockbourne Roman Villa
A day visit offers pupils the opportunity to explore the site, handle objects in the museum, and enjoy practical activities. Choose whether your pupils explore the site as Slaves for a Day or Archaeologists for a Day. These new workshops contribute to literacy and other areas of the curriculum.
They help pupils:
- make deductions from evidence
- practice their thinking skills
- use critical and creative thinking
- learn about the past.
We also offer the Big Roman Day Out, in partnership with the Salisbury and South Wiltshire Museum. Your day begins when you will visit Salisbury Museum in the morning and study Romans in the region, including handling real Roman artefacts and learning about objects that Romans left behind. Your big Roman day out then continues with a visit to Rockbourne Roman Villa where you will learn about the site with our hands-on led session.
