The End of Empire III
During the 4th Century the Empire was in trouble. In AD 383, a military commander, Magnus Maximus revolted and was proclaimed Emperor by his troops. He was killed by Emperor Theodosius in AD 388. There was lots of in-fighting, and troops were removed from the provinces in order to defend the Emperor.
